At Roosevelt, we believe that arts are equity- all children deserve to receive a quality education in the arts, regardless of their language background, socio-economic status or cognitive ability.

 

In 2014-15, we worked hard to expand arts programming to our DCD and Lifeskills programs- two special education programs that were not receiving arts services. Students in the DCD program received visual arts once weekly with artist Katrina Knutson, thanks to grants from AAA and MRTI, and Adaptive Dance daily. Students in DCD and Lifeskills also were mainstreamed into visual arts and music classes. 

 

We hope to continue these programs and add more in 2015-16.
